Which in amp 3 wasn't much of a problem compared to other sims and we always able to quickly iron it out with eq. We upgraded to v 4 and here are my observerations. I'm a total Amplitube fan boy and have slutz style bought every make model of everything available for it in Amp 3. But, it's a much smaller palette than what you have available through Amplitube. S Gear is pretty amazing now that I have it through Slate. I thought they would be smart to give you updates to programs you own, not try to get you to upgrade, not the same as an update. The only issue is that when I open up AMP 3 or the control center thing, I get a window letting me know that there is a later version of the software and it asks me if I want to download. I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading but didn't see anything that WOW'ed me in the specs/announcement. The cabinet has to be worth north of $1000 now. I think they cost about $100 each and in one afternoon, I had them switched out. The speakers were OK and I had George (forget his last name), the current owner of Acoustic Amplification for the USA, help me with getting the correct replacement speakers. Just goes to show that the management at Guitar Center makes some BAD decisions. they had to ship it with a freight company (not UPS or Fedex), the trucking company had to transfer the unit to an elevator unit to deliver to my home and the bill for the shipping had to be well over $500. I lived in Raleigh at the time and the cabinet was in San Diego. I purchased this through Guitar Center used. I had to change the Jensens though because the original ones were dry rotted. So, I have the dual 15 - horn cabinet along with a couple of bass heads (360). There are certainly other products that do this however, for sonics, gear and tweak options, I'm happy we went all in with Amplitube.īut, demo them all one at a time, read the manuals. Go into it with an open mind (and ears) twiddle a little and you'll be well rewarded. If you go into anything without leaving your bias and baggage at the front door there's no end to how your lizard brain can fool you. Sorry, that's my experience with using it every day and often with old school gtr players who are very picky. The idea that Amplitube 3 or 4 is "unusable" without using other cab sims/ir is an uniformed option. The cabs - particularly in Amp4 are second to none. When I've had guys like that face to face, one thing is ALWAYS true: they are people who haven't messed with the cab options in Amplitube itself. and don't listen to these cats about second and third party cab sims and IRs. If Amplitube gets from A to B faster with less tweaks from me (as a non guitarist). I am sure others would be interested if you upload those matches and presets. a few ideas for Amplitube 11.If you still own the amps mentioned have you looked into Positive grid bias and use the amp matching. For a time, I loved my SUnn 1000 with two 2-15 cabinets but as large as that behemouth was, "clean" was all it could do. that's almost more important than the soundĭunno why I gravitated to 15" speakers in the 60's, but I'd often switch between my 12" Marshall stack for lead and any of my 15" setups for rhythm. The Nauga-sim Kustom would HAVE to include provision to changing the gui to any/all of the colors ever offered by Kustom. The black and gold sparkle models always looked a little too much like coffins. even as messed up as the wiring was in my k200 head I had a 2-15 version of that too. The solid state CCR "Keep On Chooglin" Naugahyde Kustoms though were pretty cool. I don't really care what the Acoustic would sound like as a sim as it was the worst amp I ever owned. I used to own those amps and just want to look at a good gui of them now and a blue-horn Acoustic 260/261 "Doors" 2-15 setup will get my biz. The first sim company that adds a few Naugahyde Kustom amps.
